Practicing yoga and meditation helped soothe my chronically hyper-vigilant nervous system, and gave me the tools to navigate through life’s challenges. After nearly two decades of practice in cultivating body awareness and a connection to my breath; I endeavour to foster a similar inner awareness when I guide a class and help the individual’s body and breath inform their yoga and meditation journey. BASS Yoga - Breath is the foundation, followed by Alignment, Strength and Stretching. These four principles become the pillars upon which Sthitpragya’s yoga instructions are crafted. With the focus on breath and alignment first, there comes an awareness and grounding in one’s own body before working to strengthen and stretch muscles that leads to a lifetime of vitality and wellbeing. In 2011, he travelled to India to study yoga from the source. Shortly after coming home to Toronto, he completed a teaching course, and has been teaching ever since. In his classes, he helps bring students out of their comfort zone in a safe, fun and uplifting environment.
